And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing on it, but leaves only, and said to it, Let no fruit grow on you from now on for ever. And soon after the fig tree withered away.

Hear another parable: There was a certain head of a household, who planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and dug a winepress in it, and built a tower, and rented it out to farmers, and went into a far country:

And whoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

And now also the axe is laid to the root of the trees: therefore every tree which does not bring forth good fruit is cut down, and thrown into the fire.

And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if perhaps he might find anything on it: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.

And they came to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out those who sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of those who sold doves;

If a man does not abide in me, he is thrown away as a branch, and withers; and men gather them, and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.

For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he that is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
