And king Solomon answered and said to his mother, And why do you ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? ask for him the kingdom also; for he is my elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah.
For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of a mixture; and he pours out from it: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall squeeze them out, and drink them.
Thus says your Lord the LORD, and your God who pleads the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of your hand the cup of trembling, even the dregs of the cup of my fury; you shall no more drink it again:
And do you seek great things for yourself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, says the LORD: but your life will I give to you for a possession in all places to which you go.
And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as you will.
Likewise the Spirit also helps our weaknesses: for we do not know what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
