But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft garments? Behold, those who are gorgeously clothed, and live delicately, are in kings’ courts.

But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, those who wear soft clothing are in kings’ houses.

And yet I say to you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not adorned like one of these.

And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak to the people concerning John, What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and much more than a prophet.
