As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him.

But you, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy to all those who call upon you.

In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bore them, and carried them all the days of old.

Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spoke against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my heart is troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, says the LORD.

I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat:

After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before his face into every city and place, where he himself would come.

And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said to him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.

And the Lord said to him, Now do you Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inside is full of plunder and wickedness.

And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food at the proper time?

The Lord then answered him, and said, You hypocrite, does not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?

And the apostles said to the Lord, Increase our faith.

And the Lord said, If you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, you might say to this sycamore tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be planted in the sea; and it would obey you.

And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge says.

And Zacchaeus stood, and said to the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore to him fourfold.

And the Lord turned, and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said to him, Before the cock crows, you shall deny me three times.

And they entered in, and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon.

Now when he came near to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and many people of the city were with her.

And he came and touched the bier: and those who bore him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say to you, Arise.

And John calling to him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Are you he who should come? Or do we look for another?

And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Do not weep; she is not dead, but sleeps.

(It was that Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)

Therefore his sisters sent to him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom you love is sick.

And they said to her, Woman, why are you weeping? She said to them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him.

Jesus said to her, Woman, why are you weeping? Whom do you seek? She, supposing him to be the gardener, said to him, Sir, if you have taken him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.

When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,

(However there came other boats from Tiberias near to the place where they ate bread, after the Lord had given thanks:)

And those who weep, as though they did not weep; and those who rejoice, as though they did not rejoice; and those who buy, as though they did not possess;

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are asleep, so that you do not sorrow, even as others who have no hope.

Therefore in all things it was necessary for him to be made like his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

For we have not a high priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our weaknesses; but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.
