He has distributed, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honor.

​Blessed is he that considers the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.

He that has pity on the poor lends to the LORD; and that which he has given will he pay him back.

He covets greedily all the day long: but the righteous gives and does not spare.

He that has a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he gives of his bread to the poor.

Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for you know not what evil shall be upon the earth.

When I applied my heart to know wisdom, and to see the business that is done upon the earth: (for also there is the man who neither day nor night sees sleep with his eyes:)

So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also to each one of you, if you from your hearts do not forgive your brother for his trespasses.

But I say to you, Do not resist evil: but whoever shall strike you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

But rather give gifts of such things as you have; and, behold, all things are clean for you.

Sell what you have, and give gifts; provide yourselves bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that fails not, where no thief approaches, neither moth corrupts.

Now when Jesus heard these things, he said to him, You still lack one thing: sell all that you have, and distribute to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

And to him who strikes you on the one cheek offer also the other; and him who takes away your cloak forbid not to take your coat also.

And as you would that men should do to you, do also to them likewise.

Give, and it shall be given to you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your lap. For with the same measure that you use it shall be measured to you again.

I have shown you all things, how so laboring you ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might be rich.

Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have something to give to him that is needy.
