And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?

The Son of man came eating and drinking; and you say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!

Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw it, he spoke within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that touches him: for she is a sinner.

And there arose a great outcry: and the scribes that were of the Pharisees’ part arose, and disputed, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him, let us not fight against God.
