But their eyes were held so that they would not know him.
And Joseph knew his brothers, but they did not know him.
After that he appeared in another form to two of them, as they walked, and went into the country.
And it came to pass, that, while they conversed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
And he said to them, What manner of communications are these that you have to one another, as you walk, and are sad?
And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
And when she had thus said, she turned back, and saw Jesus standing, and did not know that it was Jesus.
But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.
