And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the world?
Jesus said to him, You have said it: nevertheless I say to you, After this shall you see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
For as the lightning, that flashes out of the one part under heaven, shines to the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.
That the testing of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it is tried with fire, may result in praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
But rejoice, to the extent that you are sharers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, you may be glad also with exceeding joy.
Beloved, now are we the children of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
Behold, he is coming with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and those also who pierced him: and all the tribes of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
