But he turned, and said to Peter, Get behind me, Satan: you are an offense to me: for you are not concerned with the things that are of God, but those that are of men.

Woe to the world because of offenses! for it is necessary that offenses come; but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!

And he said to him, If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Let us not therefore judge one another any longer: but determine this rather, that no man put a stumbling block or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.

Now I plead with you, brethren, take note of those who cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which you have learned; and avoid them.

Give no offense, either to the Jews, or to the Gentiles, or to the church of God:

Now the Spirit speaks expressly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit fornication.

Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you permit that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed to idols.
