And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight, and am no more worthy to be called your son.

And do not enter into judgment with your servant: for in your sight shall no man living be justified.

But when you sin so against fellow believers, and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.
