There is a man who makes himself rich, yet has nothing: there is a man who makes himself poor, yet has great riches.

Israel is an empty vine, he brings forth fruit for himself: according to the multitude of his fruit he has increased the altars; according to the goodness of his land they have made beautiful images.

Woe to him who covets with an evil covetousness for his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evil!

Sell what you have, and give gifts; provide yourselves bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that fails not, where no thief approaches, neither moth corrupts.

If therefore you have not been faithful in the unrighteous riches of this world, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

But woe to you that are rich! for you have received your consolation.

But according to your hardness and impenitent heart you store up for yourself wrath for the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

Listen, my beloved brethren, Has not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to those who love him?

I know your works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but you are rich) and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
