If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?
And the LORD smelled a sweet smell; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again strike any more every thing living, as I have done.
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
That you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven: for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
Therefore, if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Then Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
For if by one man’s offense death reigned by one; much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwells no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I do not find out.
For we ourselves also were at one time foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
