If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary to me;
Yet if they shall consider themselves in the land to which they were taken captives, and repent, and make request to you in the land of those who took them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;
And so return to you with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray unto you toward their land, which you gave to their fathers, the city which you have chosen, and the house which I have built for your name:
Now therefore make confession unto the LORD God of your fathers, and do his will: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the foreign wives.
O LORD God of Israel, you are righteous: for we remain yet delivered, as it is this day: behold, we are before you in our trespasses: for we cannot stand before you because of this.
And said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to you, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass has grown up unto the heavens.
I acknowledged my sin unto you, and my iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
Behold, O LORD; for I am in distress: my bowels are troubled; my heart is overturned within me; for I have greatly rebelled: abroad the sword bereaves, at home there is what seems like death.
And they shall comfort you, when you see their ways and their doings: and you shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, says the Lord GOD.
Then shall you remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.
Then they shall confess their sin which they have done: and he shall recompense his trespass with the value thereof, and add to it the fifth part thereof, and give it to him against whom he has trespassed.
And they came to the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, to the land of Gilead, and they spoke with them, saying,
And Joshua said to Achan, My son, give, I pray you, glory to the LORD God of Israel, and make confession unto him; and tell me now what you have done; hide it not from me.
