For he is the servant of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain: for he is the servant of God, an avenger to execute wrath upon him who does evil.

For the commandments, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not kill, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, You shall not covet; and if there is any other commandment, it is briefly summed up in this saying, namely, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, disagreements, jealousy, anger, strife, divisions, heresies,

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs.

To me belong vengeance, and recompense; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.

But now you also are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

For we know him who has said, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

If you fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, You shall love your neighbor as yourself, you do well:

Therefore laying aside all malice, and all deceit, and hypocrisy, and envy, and all evil speaking,

And this commandment have we from him, That he who loves God should love his brother also.
