He that speaks flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.

If I have eaten the fruits of it without money, or have caused the owners thereof to lose their life:

As a servant earnestly desires the shade, and as a hireling looks for the reward of his work:

If it be torn in pieces, then let him bring it for witness, and he shall not make good that which was torn.

But if the owner thereof is with it, he shall not make it good: if it is a hired thing, it came for its hire.

You shall neither trouble a stranger, nor oppress him: for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

If a man shall deliver to his neighbor money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man’s house; if the thief be found, let him pay double.

Varying weights, and varying measures, both of them are alike an abomination to the LORD.

Do not rob the poor, because he is poor: neither oppress the afflicted in the gate:

Say not to your neighbor, Go, and come again, and tomorrow I will give; when you have it by you.

Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; who makes use of his neighbor’s service without wages, and does not give him anything for his work;

Thus says the LORD; Execute justice and righteousness, and deliver him who is plundered out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.

And has not oppressed any, but has returned to the debtor his pledge, has plundered none by violence, has given his bread to the hungry, and has covered the naked with a garment;

In you have they taken bribes to shed blood; you have taken interest and unjust gain, and you have greedily gained from your neighbors by extortion, and have forgotten me, says the Lord GOD.

The people of the land have used oppression, and committed robbery, and have troubled the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully.

And if you sell anything to your neighbor, or buy anything from your neighbor’s hand, you shall not oppress one another:

You shall not therefore oppress one another; but you shall fear your God: for I am the LORD your God.

Or has found that which was lost, and lies concerning it, and swears falsely; in any of all these that a man does, sinning therein:

And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those who oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and who turn aside the stranger from his right, and do not fear me, says the LORD of hosts.

So when evening was come, the lord of the vineyard said to his steward, Call the laborers, and give them their wages, beginning from the last until the first.

You know the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor your father and mother.

And he said to them, Require no more than that which is appointed you.

That no one go too far and take advantage of his brother in any matter: because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.

For the scripture says, You shall not muzzle the ox that treads out the grain. And, The laborer is worthy of his pay.

Behold, the wages of the laborers who have reaped your fields, which are by you kept back by fraud, cry out: and the cries of those who have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of Hosts.
