For the LORD brought Judah low because of Ahaz king of Israel; for he made Judah naked, and transgressed greatly against the LORD.

There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and turned away from evil.

Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof.

Thus says the Lord GOD; Because Moab and Seir say, Behold, the house of Judah is like all the heathen;

Son of man, because Tyre has said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken who was the gates of the people: she is turned to me: I shall be replenished, now she is laid waste:

Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he pursued his brother with the sword, and cast off all pity, and his anger tore perpetually, and he kept his anger for ever:

The vision of Obadiah. Thus says the Lord GOD concerning Edom; We have heard a rumor from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the heathen, Arise, and let us rise up against her in battle.

Go away, you inhabitant of Saphir, having your shame naked: the inhabitant of Zaanan did not come forth in the mourning of Beth-ezel; he shall receive from you his standing place.

You are filled with shame instead of glory: drink also, and let your foreskin be uncovered: the cup of the LORD’S right hand shall be turned to you, and shameful spewing shall be on your glory.

Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, so that he does not walk naked, and they see his shame.
