And a certain man drew a bow at random, and struck the king of Israel between the joints of the armor: therefore he said to the driver of his chariot, Turn your hand, and take me out of the army; for I am wounded.
And while he yet talked with them, behold, the messenger came down to him: and he said, Behold, this evil is of the LORD; should I really wait for the LORD any longer?
But he said to her, You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.
Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
Behold, I am against those who prophesy false dreams, says the LORD, and tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their shallowness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, says the LORD.
And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he does according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can hold back his hand, or say to him, What are you doing?
In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his own will:
