Also he built towers in the desert, and dug many wells: for he had much cattle, both in the low country, and in the plains: farmers also, and vine dressers in the mountains, and in Carmel: for he loved farming.
It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the excellence of Carmel and Sharon; they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellence of our God.
And when Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel, saying, Saul came to Carmel, and, behold, he set up a place for himself, and has gone about, and passed on, and gone down to Gilgal.
Saul also and his men went to seek him. And they told David: therefore he came down into a rock, and stayed in the wilderness of Maon. And when Saul heard that, he pursued after David in the wilderness of Maon.
And there was a man in Maon, whose possessions were in Carmel; and the man was very wealthy, and he had three thousand sheep, and a thousand goats: and he was shearing his sheep in Carmel.
And now I have heard that you have shearers: now your shepherds which were with us, we hurt them not, neither was there anything missing for them, all the while they were in Carmel.
