And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains;

And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel: and because of the Midianites the children of Israel made for themselves the dens which are in the mountains, and caves, and strongholds.

When the men of Israel saw that they were in difficulty, (for the people were distressed,) then the people hid themselves in caves, and in thickets, and in rocks, and in high places, and in pits.

And he came to the sheepfolds by the way, where there was a cave; and Saul went in to cover his feet: and David and his men remained in the sides of the cave.

David also arose afterward, and went out of the cave, and cried out after Saul, saying, My lord the king. And when Saul looked behind him, David stooped with his face to the earth, and bowed himself.
