When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,
And you, child, shall be called the prophet of the Highest: for you shall go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;
And if any man asks you, Why do you loose him? thus shall you say to him, Because the Lord has need of him.
And they said, The Lord has need of him.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said to her, Do not weep.
And John calling to him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Are you he who should come? Or do we look for another?
After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judea; and there he stayed with them, and baptized.
And they came to John, and said to him, Rabbi, he who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you bore witness, behold, the same baptizes, and everyone is coming to him.
The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.
The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.
My brethren, do not have the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with unfair preference for certain persons.
And he has on his garment and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
