And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had cut out in the rock: and he rolled a large stone to the door of the sepulcher, and departed.

Command therefore that the sepulcher be made secure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say to the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.

So they went, and made the sepulcher secure, sealing the stone, and setting a guard.

After the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulcher.

And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulcher which was cut out of a rock, and rolled a stone to the door of the sepulcher.

Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.

Jesus therefore again groaning in himself came to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.

Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank you that you have heard me.

Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.

And after eight days again his disciples were inside, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be to you.

And on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached to them, ready to depart on the next day; and continued his speech until midnight.

Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God has prospered him, that there be no collections when I come.

I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet,
