And they buried him in his own sepulchers, which he had made for himself in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odors and various spices prepared by the apothecaries’ art: and they made a very great burning for him.

All your garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, by which they have made you glad.

I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

A bundle of myrrh is my well beloved to me; he shall lie all night between my breasts.

Spikenard and saffron; calamus and cinnamon, with all trees of frankincense; myrrh and aloes, with all the chief spices:

And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshiped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.

Then Mary took a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment.

Then said Jesus, Let her alone: for the day of my burial has she kept this ointment.
