And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.
And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.
And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
And the inscription of his accusation was written, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.
And an inscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
Nathanael answered and said to him, Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.
Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said to him, Are you the King of the Jews?
And from that time on Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If you let this man go, you are not Caesar’s friend: whoever makes himself a king speaks against Caesar.
And it was the preparation day of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he said to the Jews, Behold your King!
Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Do not write, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.
And said, Hail, King of the Jews! And they struck him with their hands.
I truly thought to myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
