Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.

And Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you, That this day, even in this night, before the cock crows twice, you shall deny me three times.

And one of those who stood by drew a sword, and struck a servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.

And he said to him, Lord, I am ready to go with you, both into prison, and to death.

One of the servants of the high priest, being kinsman of him whose ear Peter cut off, said, Did not I see you in the garden with him?
