Are you not our God, who did drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel, and gave it to the descendents of Abraham your friend for ever?
I have come into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk: eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved.
And they came in, and possessed it; but they did not obey your voice, or walk in your law; they have done nothing of all that you commanded them to do: therefore you have caused all this evil to come upon them:
And I did so as I was commanded: I brought forth my things by day, as things for captivity, and in the evening I dug through the wall with my hand; I brought them out in the twilight, and I carried them upon my shoulder in their sight.
He who has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is who loves me: and he who loves me shall be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will reveal myself to him.
You have heard how I said to you, I go away, and come again to you. If you loved me, you would rejoice, because I said, I go to the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
