Yea, my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, who ate of my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.

Then arose Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and the ten men that were with him, and struck down Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan with the sword, and slew him, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land.

And a man’s foes shall be those of his own household.

And as they ate, he said, Truly I say to you, that one of you shall betray me.

And he answered and said, He who dips his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.

And in the evening he came with the twelve.

And as they sat and ate, Jesus said, Truly I say to you, One of you who eats with me shall betray me.

And he answered and said to them, It is one of the twelve, who dips with me in the dish.

But, behold, the hand of him that betrays me is with me on the table.

When Jesus had thus spoken, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Truly, truly, I say to you, that one of you shall betray me.

Then the disciples looked at one another, doubting of whom he spoke.

Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a morsel, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the morsel, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.

You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and appointed you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you.

If you were of the world, the world would love its own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

But this takes place, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spoke, signifying what death he would die.

They said therefore among themselves, Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which says, They parted my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.

For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.

He said to him the third time, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me? Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, Do you love me? And he said to him, Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you. Jesus said to him, Feed my sheep.

Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

Men and fellow believers, this scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit by the mouth of David spoke beforehand concerning Judas, who guided those who took Jesus.

Until the day in which he was taken up, after he through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom he had chosen:

For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.

Neither is there any creature that is not clearly visible in his sight: but all things are naked and opened to the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he who searches minds and hearts: and I will give to every one of you according to your works.
