Now because we have support from the king’s palace, and it was not proper for us to see the king’s dishonor, therefore have we sent and informed the king;

But he said, You are idle, you are idle: therefore you say, Let us go and do sacrifice to the LORD.

And the amount of the bricks, which they did make beforehand, you shall lay upon them; you shall not diminish anything from it: for they be idle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God.

Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell grain? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?

But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellow servants, who owed him a hundred silver coins: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me what you owe.

And when he had agreed with the laborers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.

Sell what you have, and give gifts; provide yourselves bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that fails not, where no thief approaches, neither moth corrupts.

Now when Jesus heard these things, he said to him, You still lack one thing: sell all that you have, and distribute to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

And why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the board that is in your own eye?

Then said one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, who would betray him,

This he said, not that he cared about the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and took what was put in it.

For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said to him, Buy those things that we have need of for the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.

Philip answered him, Two hundred silver coins worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.
