And when they saw him afar off, even before he came near to them, they conspired against him to kill him.

Then I testified against them, and said to them, Why do you lodge before the wall? if you do so again, I will lay hands on you. From that time on they came no more on the sabbath.

And it came to pass from that time on, that the half of my servants labored in the work, and the other half of them held the spears, the shields, and the bows, and the coats of mail; and the rulers stood behind all the house of Judah.

Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore.

The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,

For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.

For my enemies speak against me; and those who lay in wait for my soul take counsel together,

Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, If I tell it to you, will you not surely put me to death? and if I give you counsel, will you fail to listen to me?

Therefore the princes said to the king, We plead with you, let this man be put to death: for thus he weakens the hands of the men of war that remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words to them: for this man seeks not the welfare of this people, but their hurt.

Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.

From that time on Jesus began to show his disciples how he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

And no man was able to answer him a word, neither dared any man from that day on to ask him any more questions.

And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtlety, and kill him.

Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;

After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by subtlety, and put him to death.

And the Pharisees went out, and immediately took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.

Then the chief priests and the Pharisees assembled a council, and said, What are we going to do? For this man does many miracles.

But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;

After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill him.

When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.

And after many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:
