The voice of my beloved! behold, he comes leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills.

I sleep, but my heart wakes: it is the voice of my beloved that knocks, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night.

Then said Jesus to his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

And other sheep I have, who are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Pilate therefore said to him, Are you a king then? Jesus answered, You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born, and for this reason I came into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Every one who is of the truth hears my voice.

He that has the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

Be followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

The LORD your God who goes before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;

Looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, made a high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedek.

For even to this were you called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow his steps:

Seeing then that Christ has suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same attitude: for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin;

Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being examples to the flock.
