The day after Jesus desired to go on into Galilee, and found Philip, and said to him, Follow me.

I am sought by those who did not ask for me; I am found by those who did not seek me: I said, Behold me, behold me, to a nation that was not called by my name.

Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;

Now when Jesus had heard that John was put into prison, he departed into Galilee;

But Jesus said to him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.

And as Jesus passed away from there, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the place of collecting taxes: and he said to him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.

For the Son of man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.

These things were done in Bethabara beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

The next day John saw Jesus coming to him, and said, Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world.

Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;

And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.

The same came therefore to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and requested of him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.

Philip said to him, Lord, show us the Father, and it will be sufficient for us.

This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company coming to him, he said to Philip, Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?

Philip answered him, Two hundred silver coins worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.

Not as though I had already attained, or were already perfect: but I pursue it, if I may take hold of that for which also I am taken hold of by Christ Jesus.

We love him, because he first loved us.
