As the cloud is consumed and vanishes away: so he that goes down to the grave shall come up no more.

But now he is dead, why should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.

For we all must die, and are as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither does God respect any person: yet he devises means, that his banished be not expelled from him.

Before I go from where I shall not return, even to the land of darkness and the shadow of death;

It is as high as heaven; what can you do? deeper than hell; what can you know?

When a few years have come, then I shall go the way from which I shall not return.

If I wait, the grave is my house: I have made my bed in the darkness.

They shall go down to the bars of the pit, when we shall rest together in the dust.

For now should I have lain still and been quiet, I should have slept: then had I been at rest,

Terrors are rushing upon me: they pursue my soul as the wind: and my welfare passes away as a cloud.

Also through watering he exhausts the thick cloud: he scatters his bright cloud:

O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go away, and be no more.

They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore have you visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.

I said, I shall not see the LORD, even the LORD, in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world.
