And he, as a rotten thing, consumes away, as a garment that is moth eaten.

I have said to corruption, You are my father: to the worm, You are my mother, and my sister.

My eye also is dim because of sorrow, and all my members are as a shadow.

My bone sticks to my skin and to my flesh, and I have escaped with the skin of my teeth.

And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:

The womb shall forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered; and wickedness shall be broken as a tree.

Yet shall you plunge me in the ditch, and my own clothes shall abhor me.

From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrefying sores: they have not been closed up, neither bound up, neither softened with ointment.

Your pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of your stringed instruments: the worm is spread under you, and the worms cover you.

And they shall go out, and look upon the carcasses of the men who have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring to all flesh.

And there shall you remember your ways, and all your doings, in which you have been defiled; and you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that you have committed.

And immediately the angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give God the glory: and he was eaten by worms, and gave up the ghost.
