And why do you not pardon my transgression, and take away my iniquity? for now shall I sleep in the dust; and you shall seek me in the morning, but I shall not be.

And David’s heart struck him after he had numbered the people. And David said to the LORD, I have sinned greatly in what I have done: and now, I plead with you, O LORD, take away the iniquity of your servant; for I have done very foolishly.

If I sin, then you mark me, and you will not acquit me from my iniquity.

Remember, I plead with you, that you have made me as the clay; and will you bring me into dust again?

Who is he that will plead with me? for now, if I hold my tongue, I shall give up the ghost.

But man dies, and wastes away: yea, man gives up the ghost, and where is he?

I have said to corruption, You are my father: to the worm, You are my mother, and my sister.

He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.

The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered to the grave: he opens his eyes, and he is no more.

For now should I have lain still and been quiet, I should have slept: then had I been at rest,

I am clean without transgression, I am innocent; neither is there iniquity in me.

The eye of him that has seen me shall see me no more: your eyes are upon me, and I am not.

Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

I am afraid of all my sorrows, I know that you will not hold me innocent.

As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourishes.

Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.

Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Your dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, you that dwell in dust: for your dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

Be not greatly angry, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we plead with you, we are all your people.

And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say to him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we return the sacrifices of our lips.

The next day John saw Jesus coming to him, and said, Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world.

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify for himself a special people, zealous for good works.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

And you know that he appeared to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
