Behold, I waited for your words; I gave ear to your reasons, while you searched out what to say.

To me men gave ear, and waited, and kept silence at my counsel.

And they waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain.

Therefore I said, Listen to me; I also will reveal my opinion.

Yea, I observed you, and, behold, there was none of you that convinced Job, or that answered his words:

Now Elihu had waited till Job had spoken, because they were older than he.

Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know it for your good.

He that is first in his own cause seems just; but his neighbor comes and examines him.

The rich man is wise in his own eyes; but the poor that has understanding searches him out.
