Let the stars of the twilight thereof be dark; let it look for light, but have none; neither let it see the dawning of the day:
Because it did not shut up the doors of my mother’s womb, nor hid sorrow from my eyes.
Let them curse it who curse the day, who are ready to lift up their mourning.
When I looked for good, then evil came to me: and when I waited for light, there came darkness.
None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me?
By his sneezing a light shines, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.
Give glory to the LORD your God, before he causes darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while you look for light, he turns it into the shadow of death, and makes it thick darkness.
We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of health, and behold, trouble!
