I would set out my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.

And you said, I will surely do you good, and make your descendents as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.

Behold now, I have ordered my cause; I know that I shall be justified.

Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.

Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!

I would know the words which he would answer to me, and understand what he would say to me.

Teach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech because of darkness.

Shall he that contends with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproves God, let him answer it.

For your name’s sake, O LORD, pardon my iniquity; for it is great.

Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.

Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare it, that you may be justified.
