Will you break a leaf driven to and fro? and will you pursue the dry stubble?

Which were cut down before the time, whose foundation was overflowed with a flood:

The east wind carries him away, and he departs: and as a storm it hurls him out of his place.

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them.

O my God, make them like a rolling wheel; as the stubble before the wind.

As the fire burns a forest, and as the flame sets the mountains on fire;

And in the greatness of your excellency you have overthrown those who rose up against you: you sent forth your wrath, which consumed them as stubble.

As the whirlwind passes, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.

The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling bush before the whirlwind.

Moreover the multitude of your strangers shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones shall be as chaff that passes away: yea, it shall be in an instant suddenly.

Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stump shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.

Therefore as the fire devours the stubble, and the flame consumes the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

Therefore will I scatter them as the stubble that passes away by the wind of the wilderness.

Therefore they shall be like the morning cloud, and like the early dew that passes away, like the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind away from the floor, and like the smoke out of the chimney.

For while they are twined together like thorns, and while they are drunken like drunkards, they shall be devoured like stubble fully dry.

He stood, and measured the earth: he beheld, and split the nations; and the everlasting mountains were scattered, the perpetual hills sank down: his ways are everlasting.

Whose winnowing fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

Now if anyone builds upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
