The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling bush before the whirlwind.
Moreover the multitude of your strangers shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones shall be as chaff that passes away: yea, it shall be in an instant suddenly.
Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stump shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.
Therefore as the fire devours the stubble, and the flame consumes the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
Therefore they shall be like the morning cloud, and like the early dew that passes away, like the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind away from the floor, and like the smoke out of the chimney.
He stood, and measured the earth: he beheld, and split the nations; and the everlasting mountains were scattered, the perpetual hills sank down: his ways are everlasting.
Whose winnowing fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.
