Is it good to you that you should oppress, that you should despise the work of your hands, and shine upon the counsel of the wicked?

Why do you persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?

As God lives, who has taken away my judgment; and the Almighty, who has troubled my soul;

Why is light given to a man whose way is hid, and whom God has hedged in?

You have become cruel to me: with your strong hand you oppose yourself against me.

Will you also make void my judgment? will you condemn me, that you may be righteous?

Turn back, I pray you, let it not be iniquity; yea, turn back again, my righteousness is in it.

I have sinned; what shall I do for you, O you preserver of men? why have you considered me as a target for you, so that I am a burden to myself?

Does God pervert judgment? or does the Almighty pervert justice?

My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare: and I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there.

Thus says the Lord GOD; I will therefore spread out my net over you with a company of many people; and they shall bring you up in my net.

When they shall go, I will spread my net upon them; I will bring them down like the birds of the heaven; I will chastise them, as their congregation has heard.

And when you shall see Jerusalem surrounded with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is near.
