Is it good to you that you should oppress, that you should despise the work of your hands, and shine upon the counsel of the wicked?

They have gaped upon me with their mouth; they have struck me upon the cheek reproachfully; they have gathered themselves together against me.

I was at ease, but he has broken me apart: he has also taken me by my neck, and shaken me to pieces, and set me up for his mark.

Why do you persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?

Know now that God has overthrown me, and has surrounded me with his net.

So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD, and struck Job with severe boils from the sole of his foot to his crown.

As God lives, who has taken away my judgment; and the Almighty, who has troubled my soul;

Will you also make void my judgment? will you condemn me, that you may be righteous?

The earth is given into the hand of the wicked: he covers the faces of the judges thereof; if not, where, and who is he?

Do not deliver me over to the will of my enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.

And have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: you have set my feet in a large place.

Behold, he labors painfully with iniquity, and has conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.

Then he delivered him therefore to them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.

For God has included them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

And so that I would not be exalted beyond measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to assault me, lest I should be exalted beyond measure.

And you have shown this day how you have dealt well with me: seeing that when the LORD had delivered me into your hand, you did not kill me.
