Should your lies make men hold their peace? and when you mock, shall no man make you ashamed?

Hold your peace, let me alone, that I may speak, and let come on me what will.

Hear now my reasoning, and listen to the pleadings of my lips.

Shall vain words have an end? or what emboldens you that you answer?

How long will it be before you make an end of words? take note, and afterwards we will speak.

How long will you trouble my soul, and break me in pieces with words?

Take notice of me, and be astonished, and lay your hand upon your mouth.

So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.

When I had waited, (for they did not speak, but stood still, and answered no more;)

Even a fool, when he holds his peace, is counted wise: and he that shuts his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.

For a dream comes through the multitude of business; and a fool’s voice is known by a multitude of words.

Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger:
