But put forth your hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face.

But he said to her, You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

Behold, he takes away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What are you doing?

​I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

My soul shall make its boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

I was dumb, I did not open my mouth; because you did it.

For when he dies he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

But those riches perish by evil toil: and he begets a son, and there is nothing in his hand.

As he came forth from his mother’s womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labor which he may carry away in his hand.

Every man also to whom God has given riches and wealth, and has given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labor; this is the gift of God.

Therefore glorify the LORD in the fires of affliction, even the name of the LORD God of Israel in the isles of the sea.

Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not the LORD, he against whom we have sinned? for they would not walk in his ways, neither were they obedient to his law.

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create adversity: I the LORD do all these things.

Does not calamity and good proceed out of the mouth of the most High?

Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD has not done it?

Is it not lawful for me to do what I choose with my own? Is your eye evil, because I am good?

To do whatever your hand and your counsel determined beforehand to be done.

Giving thanks always for all things to God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Behold, we consider them happy who endure. You have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the purpose of the Lord; that the Lord is full of compassion, and of tender mercy.

I went out full, and the LORD has brought me home again empty: why then do you call me Naomi, seeing the LORD has testified against me, and the Almighty has afflicted me?

The LORD makes poor, and makes rich: he brings low, and lifts up.

He raises up the poor out of the dust, and lifts up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD’S, and he has set the world upon them.

And Samuel told him every detail, and hid nothing from him. And he said, It is the LORD: let him do what seems good to him.
