Rivers of waters run down my eyes, because they do not keep your law.

My tears have been my food day and night, while they continually say to me, Where is your God?

Lo, then would I wander far off, and remain in the wilderness. Selah.

Therefore I will bewail with the weeping of Jazer the vine of Sibmah: I will water you with my tears, O Heshbon, and Elealeh: for the shouting for your summer fruits and for your harvest dies away.

And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah has not turned to me with her whole heart, but deceitfully, says the LORD.

My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my very heart; my heart makes a sound in me; I cannot hold my peace, because you have heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.

How shall I pardon you for this? your children have forsaken me, and sworn by those who are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and crowded into the harlots’ houses.

O daughter of my people, clothe yourself with sackcloth, and roll in ashes: make mourning, as for an only son, most bitter lamentation: for the plunderer shall suddenly come upon us.

When I would comfort myself against sorrow, my heart is faint in me.

And let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids gush out with waters.

My eyes fail with tears, my bowels are troubled, my liver is poured upon the earth, for the destruction of the daughter of my people; because the children and the sucklings swoon in the streets of the city.

In you have they taken bribes to shed blood; you have taken interest and unjust gain, and you have greedily gained from your neighbors by extortion, and have forgotten me, says the Lord GOD.

They are all adulterers, like an oven heated by the baker, who ceases from raising it after he has kneaded the dough, until it be leavened.
