But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.

And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries to which I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.

But, The LORD lives, who brought up and who led the people of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries to which I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.

And I will be found by you, says the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places to which I have driven you, says the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place from which I caused you to be taken away captive.

For therefore he sent to us in Babylon, saying, This captivity is long: build houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

Even all the Jews returned out of all places to which they were driven, and came to the land of Judah, to Gedaliah, unto Mizpah, and gathered wine and summer fruits very much.

Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; You have seen all the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, and upon all the cities of Judah; and, behold, this day they are a desolation, and no man dwells in them,

Therefore my fury and my anger was poured out, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are ruined and desolate, as at this day.

Thus says the LORD of hosts, They shall thoroughly glean the remnant of Israel like a vine: put your hand again into the baskets like a grape gatherer.

O Lord, righteousness belongs to you, but to us shame of face, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries to which you have driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against you.

And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste.

Hear this word that the LORD has spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,

Therefore now, O LORD, take, I plead with you, my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live.

Therefore thus says the LORD; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which you shall not remove your necks; neither shall you go haughtily: for this time is evil.

And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon you, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before you, and you shall call them to mind among all the nations, to which the LORD your God has driven you,

If any of you be driven out unto the farthest parts of heaven, from there will the LORD your God gather you, and from there will he fetch you:

And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.
