But the nations that bring their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, those will I let remain still in their own land, says the LORD; and they shall till it, and dwell therein.

And it shall come to pass that as I have watched over them to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them to build, and to plant, says the LORD.

And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.

So Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, did not obey the voice of the LORD, to dwell in the land of Judah.

Then the heathen who are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build the ruined places, and plant that which was desolate: I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it.

How shall I give you up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver you, Israel? how shall I make you like Admah? how shall I treat you like Zeboim? my heart is overturned within me, my repentings are kindled together.

And break your heart, and not your garments, and turn to the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repents of the evil.

The LORD repented for this: It shall not be, says the LORD.

The LORD repented for this: This also shall not be, says the Lord GOD.

And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil that he had said that he would do to them; and he did it not.

And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried out, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.

And he prayed to the LORD, and said, I pray you, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before to Tarshish: for I knew that you are a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and are sorry for the evil.

After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:

For the LORD shall judge his people, and be sorry for his servants, when he sees that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left.

And when the LORD raised them up judges, then the LORD was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for the LORD was sorry because of their groanings because of those who oppressed them and troubled them.
