He sent forth upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending angels of destruction among them.

Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like my sorrow, which has been done to me, with which the LORD has afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.

Cry and howl, son of man: for it shall be upon my people, it shall be upon all the princes of Israel: terrors because of the sword shall be upon my people: strike therefore upon your thigh.

Son of man, prophesy and say, Thus says the Lord GOD; Howl ye, Dreadful is the day!

Clothe yourselves, and lament, you priests: howl, you ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, you ministers of my God: for the food offering and the drink offering is withheld from the house of your God.

And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.

Make yourself bald, and cut your hair for your delicate children; enlarge your baldness like the eagle; for they are gone into captivity from you.

And the LORD said to Moses, Take all the leaders of the people, and hang them up before the LORD before the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel.
