But the Chaldeans’ army pursued after them, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho: and when they had taken him, they brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he gave judgment upon him.

And afterward, says the LORD, I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and the people, and those that are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those who seek their life: and he shall strike them down with the edge of the sword; he shall not spare them, neither have pity, nor have mercy.

And like the evil figs, which cannot be eaten, they are so evil; surely thus says the LORD, So will I give Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the remainder of Jerusalem, that remain in this land, and those who dwell in the land of Egypt:

But if you will not go forth to the king of Babylon’s princes, then shall this city be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they shall burn it with fire, and you shall not escape out of their hand.

So they shall bring out all your wives and your children to the Chaldeans: and you shall not escape out of their hand, but shall be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon: and you shall cause this city to be burned with fire.

Even a full wind from those places shall come unto me: now also will I give sentence against them.

Thus says the LORD; Behold, I will give Pharaoh Hophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies, and into the hand of those who seek his life; as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, his enemy, and who sought his life.

Concerning Damascus. Hamath is perplexed, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.

Judah has gone into captivity because of affliction, and because of great slavery: she dwells among the heathen, she finds no rest: all her persecutors overtook her in the narrow place.

The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of the LORD, was taken in their pits, of whom we said, Under his shadow we shall live among the heathen.

And they shall come against you with chariots, wagons, and wheels, and with an assembly of people, who shall set against you buckler and shield and helmet round about: and I will set judgment before them, and they shall judge you according to their judgments.

They are terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their dignity shall proceed from themselves.

So they went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, as men come to Hamath.

And the land of the Giblites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrising, from Baal-gad under mount Hermon to the entrance to Hamath.

About forty thousand prepared for war passed over before the LORD for battle, to the plains of Jericho.

And the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal, and kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the month at evening in the plains of Jericho.

Namely, five lords of the Philistines, and all the Canaanites, and the Sidonians, and the Hivites that dwelt in mount Lebanon, from mount Baal-hermon to the entrance of Hamath.
