Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; my covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them, says the LORD:

There was nothing in the ark except the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

Nevertheless I am continually with you: you have held me by my right hand.

For their heart was not right with him, neither were they steadfast in his covenant.

Now therefore, if you will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then you shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made themselves a molten calf, and have worshiped it, and have sacrificed to it, and said, These be your gods, O Israel, which have brought you up out of the land of Egypt.

Who is this that comes up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? I awakened you under the apple tree: there your mother brought you forth: there she brought you forth that bore you.

The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.

For I the LORD your God will hold your right hand, saying to you, Fear not; I will help you.

For your Maker is your husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and your Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.

And say to them, Thus says the LORD God of Israel; Cursed be the man who does not obey the words of this covenant,

Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so shall you be my people, and I will be your God:

Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus says the LORD; I remember you, the kindness of your youth, your bridal love, when you went after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.

Then they shall answer, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD their God, and worshiped other gods, and served them.

Turn, O backsliding children, says the LORD; for I am married to you: and I will take you, one from a city, and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion:

At the same time, says the LORD, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.

Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel; I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery, saying,

At the end of seven years let go every man his brother a Hebrew, who has been sold to you; and when he has served you six years, you shall let him go free from you: but your fathers did not listen to me, neither inclined their ear.

Now when I passed by you, and looked upon you, behold, your time was the time of love; and I spread the edge of my mantle over you, and covered your nakedness: yea, I swore to you, and entered into a covenant with you, says the Lord GOD, and you became mine.

And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant:

And the names of them were Aholah the elder, and Aholibah her sister: and they were mine, and they bore sons and daughters. Thus were their names; Samaria is Aholah, and Jerusalem Aholibah.

When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.

Plead with your mother, plead: for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts;

Then said the LORD to me, Keep on going, love a woman beloved by her friend, though an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.

And if you shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhors my judgments, so that you will not do all my commandments, but you break my covenant:

And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw anything.

He that has the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

Then the chief captain took him by the hand, and went with him aside privately, and asked him, What is it that you have to tell me?

For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

And in the wilderness, where you have seen that the LORD your God bore you, as a man bears his son, in all the way that you went, until you came into this place.

These are the words of the covenant which the LORD commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, besides the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.

And the LORD shall separate him for evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law:

Even all nations shall say, Why has the LORD done thus to this land? what does the heat of this great anger mean?

And the LORD said to Moses, Behold, you shall sleep with your fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, to which they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.

For when I shall have brought them into the land which I swore unto their fathers, that flows with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and grown fat; then will they turn to other gods, and serve them, and provoke me, and break my covenant.

The LORD our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.

The LORD did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day.

Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in my covenant, and I did not regard them, says the Lord.
