Therefore do not listen to the words of the prophets that speak to you, saying, You shall not serve the king of Babylon: for they prophesy a lie to you.
Then the LORD said to me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I did not send them, neither have I commanded them, neither did I speak to them: they prophesy to you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nothing, and the deceit of their heart.
And, behold, all the women that are left in the king of Judah’s house shall be brought forth to the king of Babylon’s princes, and those women shall say, Your friends have urged you on, and have prevailed against you: your feet are sunk in the mire, and they have turned away back.
Your prophets have seen vain and foolish things for you: and they have not revealed your iniquity, to turn away your captivity; but have seen for you false messages and causes of banishment.
If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood lies, saying, I will prophesy to you of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.
For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way like a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd.
