And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the lands beyond the sea.
Therefore fear not, O my servant Jacob, says the LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save you from afar, and your descendents from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be at rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid.
Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd does his flock.
Then will I cast away the children of Jacob, and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his descendents to be rulers over the children of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.
And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bear fruit: and I will settle you according to your former condition, and will do better for you than at your beginnings: and you shall know that I am the LORD.
But you, Bethlehem Ephratah, though you be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall he come forth for me who is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
Feed your people with your rod, the flock of your heritage, who dwell alone in the forest, in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.
The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
