Thus says the LORD; Execute justice and righteousness, and deliver him who is plundered out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.

The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spoke to me, He that rules over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.

And also for the innocent blood that he shed: for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; which the LORD would not pardon.

You have sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.

They pluck the fatherless from the breast, and take a pledge from the poor.

A father for the fatherless, and a judge for the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

Deliver the poor and needy: rescue them out of the hand of the wicked.

They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.

They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.

You shall neither trouble a stranger, nor oppress him: for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

You shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.

Remove not the ancient landmark; and enter not into the fields of the fatherless:

A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

Your princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loves gifts, and follows after rewards: they do not judge the fatherless, neither does the cause of the widow come to them.

Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?

Is it not to distribute your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor who are cast out to your house? when you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you do not hide yourself from your own flesh?

Because they have forsaken me, and have made this place strange, and have burned incense in it to other gods, whom neither they nor their fathers have known, nor the kings of Judah, and have filled this place with the blood of innocents;

O house of David, thus says the LORD; Execute justice in the morning, and deliver him who is plundered out of the hand of the oppressor, so that my fury does not go forth like fire, and burn so that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

But your eyes and your heart are only for your covetousness, and to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it.

Then said the princes and all the people to the priests and to the prophets; This man is not worthy to die: for he has spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God.

They have become fat, they glisten: yea, they exceed the deeds of the wicked: they do not judge the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge.

But this thing I commanded them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.

But let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who exercises loving kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth: for in these things I delight, says the LORD.

To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord does not approve.

Has oppressed the poor and needy, has plundered by violence, has not returned the pledge, and has lifted up his eyes to the idols, has committed abomination,

And has not oppressed any, but has returned to the debtor his pledge, has plundered none by violence, has given his bread to the hungry, and has covered the naked with a garment;

In you have they lightly regarded father and mother: in the midst of you have they dealt by oppression with the stranger: in you have they troubled the fatherless and the widow.

Thus says the Lord GOD; Let it suffice for you, O princes of Israel: remove violence and robbery, and execute justice and righteousness, take away your exactions from my people, says the Lord GOD.

Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.

You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: you shall not favor the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shall you judge your neighbor.

Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish justice in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.

But let justice flow down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream.

Their heads judge for reward, and their priests teach for wages, and their prophets divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? no evil can come upon us.

He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those who oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and who turn aside the stranger from his right, and do not fear me, says the LORD of hosts.

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cumin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought you to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

He executes judgment for the fatherless and widow, and loves the stranger, in giving him food and clothing.

You shall not pervert the judgment of the stranger, nor of the fatherless; nor take a widow’s clothing as a pledge:

If a man be found stealing any of his people of the children of Israel, and makes merchandise of him, or sells him; then that thief shall die; and you shall put evil away from among you.

If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.

Cursed be he that perverts the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
